Rebounder Exercises Stimulate the Lymphatic System.

Rebounder Exercises Stimulate the Lymphatic System

Kids love to jump up and down all the time; it seems like every time there is a bunch of kids in a room they are jumping on the bed having fun. As we grow older, we stop jumping and sit around not realizing the affect all this sitting around has on the lymphatic system.lymphatic system, lymph system
Our lymph system cleans toxins in our bodies by moving through a network of lymphatic vessels. These vessels are full of valves facing one way, and moving in the same direction all the time. The lymphatic system is located mainly under the arms, and up and down the legs. The lymph system is responsible for helping our immune system by ridding the body of toxins. Our bodies hold more lymph fluid then blood, the lymph fluid carries nutrients. The lymph system acts as a filter, to remove toxins and improve immunity.
However, for the lymph system to work properly, our body must move. This movement stimulates the lymphatic system enough to rid the toxins out of the body, improving general health and in many cases severe health such as cancer and other dreaded diseases.
Cancer cells and other contaminated cells need carrying out from our bodies. Doing simple rebounder exercises on a mini trampoline creates an efficient method of stimulating the cell movement causing them to become strong and proficient in removing toxins.
The low-impact bounce of rebounder exercises improves the fight against bacteria, since the lymph system does not have any natural way to flush the body like the circulatory system, draining toxins is possible by simply doing a gentle bounce. Rebounding on a trampoline increases the lymphatic flow as much as twenty times. Rebounding also help out in toning thyroid glands, adding oxygen to all our tissues, stimulating metabolism, moving water and salt through the body, and regulating fat, and proteins.
Rebounder exercises are easy to do by anyone, and only require a mini trampoline. There are certain ways of bouncing; you can go from a light bounce depending on your physical shape to a full-strength bounce.
Rebounding is recommended for all people and all ages, it is low impact and easy. Mini trampolines can be equipped with holding bars allowing secure bouncing for those who are not readily mobile.
Consider this exercise system for yourself if you are facing the challenges of dealing with disease, or the prevention of it.

Substitute teacher becomes heir to gold fortune.

http://www.ksl.com/?sid=23391537&nid=711&title=substitute-teacher-becomes-heir-to-gold-fortune&s_cid=queue-7

Substitute teacher becomes heir to gold fortune.

A court hearing in Carson City is scheduled Tuesday, when a judge is expected to certify first cousin Arlene Magdanz as the lone heir to the treasure valued at $7.4 million found in the home of Walter Samaszko Jr., Carson City Clerk-Recorder Alan Glover told the Nevada Appeal.

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/09/17/13921601-7-million-in-gold-found-in-dead-nevada-mans-home?lite

$7 million in gold found in dead Nevada man's home.

They found gold coins and bullion, tiny dos-pesos, $20 gold pieces, Austrian ducats, Kruggerrands and English Sovereigns dating  to the 1840s – enough gold to fill two wheelbarrows.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/09/17/nevada-man-dies-with-200-in-bank-7m-in-gold-hidden-inside-home/

Nevada man dies with $200 in bank, $7M in gold hidden inside home.
The gold coins had been minted as early as the 1840s in such countries as Mexico, England, Austria and South Africa, he said.
Based on just the weight of the gold alone, Glover estimates their worth at $7 million. Because some of the coins appear to be collector's items, the value could go much higher, he said.
Neighbors told authorities they knew little about Samaszko other than he was quiet and not a problem.
Samaszko was "anti-government," Carson City's Nevada Appeal reported, and a few conspiracy theory books were found in the home along with several guns.
"He never went to a doctor," Glover told the newspaper. "He was obsessed with getting diseases from shots."
Samaszko also had stock accounts of more than $165,000 and another $12,000 in cash at the house.

How do we get inflammation?

 http://www.healthlady.com/body-detox/how-do-we-get-inflammation/

Sugar
White Flour
Processed Oils
Wheat
Lectin

We now have wheat with very high amounts of protein, much higher than 2,000 years ago. There’s a component of this protein, which is actually one of the proteins; it’s a glycoprotein, which is a protein and a sugar molecule together.
This is a class of compounds called lectins. Lectins are in the wheat to protect the wheat from attack by bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
It does a marvelous job of protecting the wheat from infection. It does this by damaging the cell walls of the bacteria and the fungi and destroying them. Here’s something that is in there to protect the wheat from attack.
Unfortunately, human beings have the same receptor sites on the cells as the fungi and bacteria have. That means that because we have the same receptor sites, the lectins are also going to damage our cells.

Canoeing or Kayaking down the Lower Price River.

I ran across a couple of websites touting the benefits and caution of going down the Price River from Woodside to the Green River.  I figured there was interest if people knew about it.  Apparently at least a couple of people knew and were interested enough to run it and devote webpages to it.  I love it.

http://southwestpaddler.com/docs/greenut11.html

I knew there is potential danger around water but I didn't think the Price River was this treacherous but we should always be cautious especially in the outdoors and around water.  This website has also provided the following link:

http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/search/?rivername=Price&state=stut&level=any&include=on&atleast=I&atmost=V%2B&sr=River+Search&searchriver=River+Search

Not much information available on cubic feet per second and such.  Like the author says early summer is likely the best time.  Always look north or west for storms that may cause flooding on the Price River.  When it comes, it comes BIG.  According to this graph there have been six major floods this year.

We ran this at a level around 795 CFS. Very fun overnight duckie trip, or a LONG day trip. The
little big drop had quite a bit of wood reaching from river right to river center. Most of our
group portaged, one ran the small squeeze on river left. Scout and portage are river left Very
active, very fun trip. Most rocks were covered at this level.

3 Health Benefits of Distilled Water.

http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/3-health-benefits-distilled-water/

1. Removing Contaminants
2. Elimination of Chemicals
3. No Additives

The Flipside to No Additives

Distillation will remove impurities found in water but will also remove the naturally occurring minerals. The World Health Organization has stated that 14 necessary micronutrients are absent from distilled water; our bodies do require these minerals to function. If you’re not receiving your daily amount of these minerals in your water, it is necessary to get them from food sources or a multivitamin.

How to Make Super Water

Add the following to 1 gallon of distilled water to give it a boost of enzymes and nutrients:
To receive the maximum benefits that super water offers, divide your body weight by two to determine the number of ounces of super distilled water to drink daily.

Blueberries.

http://www.nutrition-and-you.com/blueberries.html

Blueberries are among the highest anti-oxidant value fruits. The ORAC value of 100 g fresh blueberry is 5562 TE (Trolex equivalents). Their antioxidant value largely derived from poly-phenolic anthocyanidin compounds such as chlorogenic acid, tannins, myricetin, quercetin and kaempferol.

Aronia Berry.

Just a few quick facts and links for the Aronia Berry:
Aronia Melanocarpa.
Also called Chokeberry or Black Chokeberry.
Not Chokecherry.

http://www.antioxidant-fruits.com/aronia-plant-description.html
http://www.antioxidant-fruits.com/aronia-berry-and-cancer.html

Aronia Berry and Cancer: Of numerous berry or other natural products tested, aronia berry continues to show exceptional activity in fighting cancer. Pilkington, Rooprai etc. all showed that aronia extracts introduced to highly malignant brain tumor lines slowed down regulation of MMP-9 activity and, when introduced, completely killed cancer cells within 24 hours. In independent studies at University of Maryland, Cornell and Purdue aronia showed remarkable apoptosis in various cancer cell lines.

http://aroniaberry.org/aronia/

A fruit called “Black Chokeberry” grows upon Aronia Melanocarpa, which is one of the best known sources on the planet for concentrated antioxidants, including the very beneficial Anthocyanin. (Some estimates show it with over 20 TIMES more anthocyanin content (gram for gram in powdered form) than the next closest fruit, the Acai berry!)

Aronia has three times as many antioxidants as blueberries:

http://blueberrycroft.com/blog/?p=571

ORAC Values
Aronia fruits have high concentrations of flavonoids causing great interest in them because they are potent antioxidants. Aronia has a higher Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) than other domestic foods based on the reported results of foods for antioxidantactivity in 2010.
The total ORAC score for raw Aronia fruit was over 16,000 µmol TE/100g. TE/100g is (micromoles Trolox Equivalents per 100 grams of fruit. These are the standard units for this ORAC test). Blueberries have ORAC score of a little over 4,600 µmol TE/100g. Raw Açai are reported to have a total ORAC value of only 5,500 µmol TE/100g which is far lower than the raw Aronia ORAC score. Acai a fruit imported from South America is a berry that has been in the headlines. Acai is one of the leading marketed antioxident fruits but its ORAC is low compared to Aronia. Research shows Aronia has a higher ORAC than any other domestically grown and consumed berries in the USA.

http://livelonger.hubpages.com/hub/aronia

Aronia berries have the highest levels of natural antioxidants of any fruit.

More than even blueberries and the vaunted pomegranate, aronia berries are the richest fruit source of anthocyanins and other antioxidants.

http://ezinearticles.com/?Aronia-Berry-Juice-Health-Benefits&id=6893297

Pucker up and prepare to experience the benefits of the tart Aronia Berry. The term "super food" gets used a lot, but when it comes to these berries and their juice health benefits, the term is well-deserved. These berries are a genuine miracle of nature. Aronia is a low-maintenance and nearly a pest-free crop. It is easy to grow the aronia plant organically because it does not need to be protected against pathogens, pest, and diseases, as a result the fruit does not contain traces of pesticides.
They are 3 times healthier than blueberries. The unique taste of the berry is one of life's unique experiences. Their high antioxidant levels, and high tannin levels make these berries tart. The berries are often made into juice mixed with other juice or made into jelly or other products. Another juice or sweetener is often added to reduce the tart taste

Puppetmaster Buffett bribes Obowma.

http://www.wealthdaily.com/articles/yet-another-group-of-stocks-making-record-highs/3607

Uncle Warren's words reached the highest level of the federal government: the White House.
Eight days after the piece ran, President Obama placed a call to Uncle Warren during which the two discussed the economy, taxes, and how to spur growth and create jobs.
Just three weeks later, Obama announced his “Buffett Rule.”
The Buffett Rule is a tax plan that would apply a minimum tax rate of 30% on individuals making more than a million dollars a year.
Of course, Buffett fully endorsed the proposal. He probably wrote it himself.
And of course the Democrats were in full rally mode...
I mean, having the world’s richest man support Obama’s tax increase plan is a slam dunk, right?
Well, not so fast. Check this out...
Four months after Obama announced the “Buffett Rule,” he killed the proposal for building the Keystone XL Pipeline that would carry oil from the Canadian oilsands through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Classic. Once in a lifetime event in Ohio Valley. Coal Miners vs. Obowma and his war on coal.

Story
http://theintelligencer.net/page/content.detail/id/575781/Miners-Ask-President-Obama-To-St---.html

BEALLSVILLE - Coal miners at the American Energy Corp. Century Mine said they want President Barack Obama to stop what they term "the war on coal" - and to stop spreading "mistruths" about them.
Miners gathered Friday afternoon to express their opposition to Obama's energy and environmental policies, which they believe threaten their jobs. Miner Mitch Miracle read aloud a letter the miners mailed to Obama that outlines some of their concerns.

http://www.humanevents.com/2012/10/13/ohio-coal-miners-rally-against-obamas-absolute-lies/

Miracle said there were five points in the letter that needed to be acknowledged by media outlets, who have repeated the Obama narrative, and Bloomquist: 1. No workers were forced to attend the Romney rally, 2. No attendance records were kept at the rally for hourly employees, 3. There were no penalties or punishments for workers, who did not attend, 4. The Romney campaign advance requested list of names for security and transportation purposes.

“And number five: It was an honor to host this important event for Governor Romney,” he said.

5 Reasons to be Wild about Wild Blueberries

http://www.clarekelway.com/5-reasons-to-be-wild-about-wild-blueberries/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=5-reasons-to-be-wild-about-wild-blueberries

5 Reasons to be Wild about Wild Blueberries

wild blueberries with Clare KelwayHi Friends, today’s natural food I am featuring is the awesome nutritional powerhouse wild blueberry.

Where do they come from ?

Native to Northern America, they grow wild almost exclusively from the  state of Maine and northwards into Canada.

Difference between wild blueberries and cultivated blueberries…..

Coming from Europe, I was accustomed to the bilberry but not the blueberry. It has been exciting to become acquainted with this powerhouse little berry.
Only recently did I consistently add wild blueberries to my family’s daily diet because I hadn’t previously appreciated the additional nutritional value contained in wild blueberries as compared to the cultivated varieties.
The wild blueberry is much smaller than the cultivated blueberry and therefore you get a lot more skin for a pound of berries than you do with the cultivated berries ( up to double the amount of berries for the same weight).
And it is in the skin that most of the key nutritional benefits lie…………….wild blueberries with clare kelway
Research has shown that wild blueberries tend to have higher bioactive compounds called anthocyanin and antioxidant levels than cultivated blueberries.
In addition, the specific anthocyanin and phenolic compounds of wild blueberries are different than those in cultivated berries and have been associated by researchers with enhanced health benefits.
Anthocyanins belong to the bioactive family of compounds called flavonoids and are found in high amounts in blackcurrants, raspberries, aubergines, blood orange juice and blueberries.
Wild Blueberries have a more intense, sweet and tangy taste than cultivated blueberries.

It is time to be get wild about wild blueberries……..

The deeper the blue of the berries the better the health benefits because the deep blue color is related to high amounts of phytonutrients called anthocyanidins. These phytonutrients aid in the process of neutralizing free radical damage in our cells.
Wild blueberries and your health with clare kelway
Wild blueberries are super foods in the real sense of the word………..
Wild blueberries are an antioxidant powerhouse.
Antioxidants (if you didn’t know) stop the oxidation process in our cells run by particles known as free radicals. And when we don’t get enough antioxidants, then oxidative stress is said to be occurring which can manifest as premature aging or creating chronic conditions that can lead to disease and eventually even death.

Five wonderful benefits to eating these little gems…………

A   Anti-aging benefits

Blueberries can help to keep our aging at bay with a high capacity for free-radical neutralization. Aging of course is normal, but in today’s polluted world, our livers are being asked to work overtime and the result is that we are aging faster than our ancestors! Overtime, the collagen matrix of our tissues and cells begins to deteriorate. Including a handful of these berries everyday will contribute to maintaining your youth!

B Eye health

Wild blueberries have been shown to be very beneficial to eye health and even help to prevent macular degeneration or slow down the speed of macular degeneration for the same reasons as given before. Macula degeneration results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field (the macula) because of damage to the retina. Macular degeneration is usually age related and mostly affects people over the age of 60.

C Cardiovascular disease and hypertension

A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, show that bioactive compounds in blueberries called anthocyanins offer protection against hypertension. Compared with those who do not eat blueberries, those eating at least one serving a week reduce their risk of developing the condition by 10 per cent.

D Cognitive Impairment

Blueberry antioxidants activate two brain-protective enzymes, catalase and superoxide dismutase ( SOD). These are the enzymes that keep neurons from being “deactivated” after they are attacked by free radicals. This suggests that including blueberries in your diet may help with aging and protect you against cognitive impairment.

E Urinary Tract Infections

Blueberry juice and fresh blueberries are great for fighting any issues with the urinary tract including infections. Blueberries prevent the bacteria from adhering to the wall of the bladder and thus prevent the infection from taking hold. Since they contain such high levels of antioxidants, they are great for supporting the immune system and preventing infections from taking hold in the first place. And blueberry juice tastes great without any need for sugar and it is safe for all ages.

Lastly Vitamins and Minerals……

Wild blueberries are a great source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, folate, and beta-carotene. They also contain valuable minerals including iron, postassium, calcium, silicon, and manganese.

Mayor of Woodside?

http://articles.latimes.com/2012/sep/25/nation/la-na-town-for-sale-20120925

Not sure if the following is true:

For someone so solitary, Pogue likes to tell stories. Like the one about how, following the 1897 Castle Gate train robbery, Butch Cassidy hid out in an underground warren of tunnels beneath one house outside town. Stubborn locals refused to give up the outlaw to the marshals, he says.

Green Shipping Container Home.

Better than a house made out of railroad ties or a mansion.  Just what is needed for a remote location like Woodside, Utah.  Problem is it's not big enough.  It's only about 160 square feet.

The watermill is just one of the features.  The problem with the watermill is that you need 30-35% humidity.  Humility at Woodside was about 10% today.  It was 40% in Roosevelt.

http://www.treehugger.com/modular-design/ecopods-shipping-container-housing-available-now.html

The Water Mill

What is the WaterMill?

Technically speaking, the WaterMill is an atmospheric water collection device that condenses water vapor and purifies it. In English: It's a home appliance that makes drinking water for your whole family - using only air.

Here's how it works:

The system draws in moist, outside air through an air filter. The moist air passes over a cooling element, condensing the moist air into water droplets. This water is then collected, passed through a specialized carbon filter and is then exposed to an ultraviolet sterilizer, eliminating bacteria.
The result?
You have taken control of your family's drinking water needs.
Once drinking water is created, it goes to the point of use devices in your home: your refrigerator, spigot, water cooler or backsplash dispenser. The WaterMill is designed for home use, producing enough water for a family to drink and cook with every day.

Why Watermill?
Outdoor air is up to 70 times more polluted than inside air. The WaterMill is installed unobtrusively on the outside of your home, using outside air, so it won't dry out the air you breathe in your home. And don't worry if your outdoor air is less than pristine - even if you live in a crowded city, the Watermill's filtration system ensures your drinking water will be clean and free of toxins and bacteria - more pure than tap water or even spring water.

Convenience
Where and how you access your water is up to you. The WaterMill can be connected directly to your sink, an existing bottled water system, your refrigerator, or a custom dispenser.

Energy Efficiency
The WaterMill is designed to minimize energy use. It's so efficient that producing one liter of water costs only three to four cents. Alternative bottled water systems typically cost ten cents per liter or more.

Smart Technology
The WaterMill is smart about more than just energy. Our innovative control system enables the WaterMill to adapt to changing conditions in every climate. It automatically adjusts airflow to maximize water production, while minimizing power consumption. Water production is constantly monitored and controlled. The WaterMill displays temperature, humidity and water production, and it will tell you when it is time for service.

Power Source Compliance
The WaterMill system has been engineered to be as efficient as possible, compliant with any power source. Look for the Watermill systems that run on a solar panel or wind generator in the near future.

Patented Technology
All innovations found in the WaterMill technology have been patented.

Our Promise of Quality
The WaterMill is a high-quality product, but even high-quality products need to be properly maintained for a long life. The WaterMill comes backed by a 1 year full parts and labor warranty

Coal port fight in Northwest.

Keystone of Coal.

Mining interests won a battle last week when the Army Corps of Engineers called for a quick study of plans to open the first coal port on the west coast at Oregon's Port of Morrow on the Columbia River, a review that will weigh impacts of hauling coal, not burning it.

Where to find treasure in the form of gemstones.

http://local.msn.com/events/slideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=253710028

That lost treasure is closer than you think. Forget travelling to a deserted island, all you may need to do to find lost treasure gold is wander off a local trail or stray off the beaten path on a mountain hike.
And what’s your pot of gold? Aquamarines, Diamonds? Geodes? Emeralds? Fossils?
Whether you’re in it for the fun or a serious rock collector, we’ve found ten great local spots in which you can dig for treasure.

1.  Crater of Diamonds State Park, Murfreesboro, Ark.
Diamonds are not only a girl’s best friend. Here in a public Arkansas state park, anyone can look and keep any diamond they find. The Crater of Diamonds State Park is the only diamond-producing site in the world where the public can search for diamonds.
Search they do. And they find them. In the last month, visitors from Texas and Oklahoma found two half-carat diamonds in their search.
After going through the visitors’ center, future Diamond Jims and Janes go to a 37-acre field that is sporadically plowed to bring more diamonds to the surface. It’s dirty work, and you might want to bring your own trowels, screens and buckets. Experts suggest visiting after a hard rain, when the rocks are cleaned by Mother Nature.
How much: $7 for adults and $4 for children older than 6
Bing: The world's biggest diamond

2.  Royal Peacock Opal Mine, Denio, Nev.
Julie Wilson, part of the Wilson family that has owned the mine since the 1940s, said that looking for opals is like fishing, gambling or hunting, “It’s just the luck of the draw,” she said. But Royal Peacock may give you the edge. In 1992, one of the largest opals in the world, the 130-pound Gingko Log, was found there. This summer, 10-pound opals have regularly been found, said Wilson.
“We get several thousand people come by,” said Wilson. “Rockhounds, tourists and just people looking for adventure.”
How much: $75 per person per day. Kids mine for free.
Bing: Where to search for opals

3.  Cherokee Ruby and Sapphire Mine, Franklin, N.C.
Rockhounds know they’re into something good when they visit Cherokee Ruby and Sapphire Mine in Franklin, N.C. The mine offers buckets of dirt and gravel of only local Cowee Valley rock for visitors to wash and discover rubies and sapphires.
When you arrive at Cherokee Mine, you drive up to the small welcome hut and pay your mining fee. You’ll get your buckets of dirt, a screen and a comfy cushion to ease your posterior when washing your gravel.
Set yourself up at the flume of clear creek water and let it roll over your gravel to clean it free of dirt. Mine guides help with washing your gravel as cleanly as possible and identifying your gemstones.
How much: Two buckets of dirt for $15 for adults and $10 for children, 6-11.
Bing: Where to find rubies

4.  Rockhound State Park, southeast of Deming, N.M.
Rockhound State Park, southeast of Deming, N.M.
Rockhound State Park, as the name suggests, was originally established in 1966 as a park for rock collectors. In this New Mexico state park, you can find agates, quartz crystals, jasper and common opal -- and lots of geodes.
For a small fee of $5, you can drive into the park and camp, or you can just hike around and find some great rocks. Hiking trails also show off the spectacular views of the Florida and Little Florida mountains that surround the park.
As for finding treasure, if you can tear your eyes away from the cactus, sunsets and native wildflowers, you can dig for the many volcanic rocks and silica materials right off the hiking trails. The only limitation? Visitors are allowed up to 15 pounds of rock for their personal collections.
How much: $5 per vehicle to access the park; entering via bicycle or walking is free
Bing: Where to find geodes

5.  Gem Mountain Gemstone Mine,Spruce Pine, N.C.
It’s a family affair at Gem Mountain Gemstone Mine. Kay and Charles Buchanan bought the mine in 1987 to continue their heritage. They now run the mine with their two daughters and other family members.
“Everybody’s roots around here are in mining,” said Mrs. Buchanan. “This is the best way to keep doing what we like to do.”
The mine is deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, just 50 miles east of Asheville. Gem Mountain offers two options for families looking for a fun experience and for rockhounds looking for some great aquamarines.
“We recently found aquamarines weighing up to 1,000 carats,” said Mrs. Buchanan, describing the rockhound option of going into the mine for four hours with a guide and tools. That tour cost $75 for adults.
For the families, the finds may be a bit smaller, but it’s still big on the fun.
“We sell the experience,” said Mrs. Buchanan. “You get to find the stone, have your own stone cut and jewelry made.”
How much? For families who are looking for a unique experience, you can buy a bucket of rocks to sort through, starting at $25. “It can get up to $500 for a barrel,” said Buchanan. “And we guarantee four free cuttings of the gems.”
Bing: Where to find aquamarines

6.  Aurora Fossil Museum, N.C.
Leftover dirt? For visitors to Aurora, N.C., it’s treasure waiting to be found. For the 34-year-old Aurora Fossil Museum, a local phosphate mine regularly donates dirt to their the Pit of the Pungo, a free place where anyone can dig through the dirt and find fossilized shark’s teeth.
The Smithsonian Institute identified the area as the richest place for Piliocene and Miocene marine fossils in the world, said Andrea Stilley, the executive director of the museum.
“Anyone can find a shark’s tooth according to how much patience they have,” said Stilley.
The museum is dedicated to teaching about fossils and is supported only by donations and a gift shop. An average of 25,000 people visit throughout the year, with the largest amount coming in December and May, when the pits are refreshed with a new delivery of dirt.
For the past 20 years, locals have celebrated the Fossil Festival on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
How much? Nothing. Visits are free
Bing: The world's oldest fossil

7.  Gold Prospecting Adventures, Jamestown, Calif.
History and treasure combine for an experience at Gold Prospecting Adventures in Jamestown, Calif. Only 90 minutes away from Yosemite National Park, the location is ideal for visitors.
Brent Shock leads the three-generation old operation, in which families can get a historical lesson on what it was like to pan or sluice for gold during the California Gold Rush.
“We supply you with everything, all the way down to the boots,” said Shock. “We’re trying to recreate it as best we can as how it was back then.”
For the family adventure, the guide takes the families out for three hours or more, and teaches everyone in the group how to search for gold.
“Everyone has their own little job,” said Shock. “We turn them into a team, working for a common goal.”
The end result may not always be gold, but it definitely is an adventure.
How much? The family price for the 3-hour Sluice Box and Pan Adventure is $155 for two adults and three children.
Bing: Where to find gold in the U.S.

8.  U-Dig Fossils, Delta, Utah
They look like roly polys, but trilobites were once a form of invertebrate marine life that lived more than 550 million years ago. You can see them up close -- and take them home -- at U-Dig Fossils in Delta, Utah, 130 miles southwest of Salt Lake City.
Bring your own hammer, hat and water. U-Dig provides everything else. They excavate rock regularly to reveal the millions of fossilized trilobites in the area.
Their staff also helps visitors identify the little guys. One family recently found 100+ trilobites in a half-day stay.
Cost: Two-hour stays for adults is $28; for kids, 7-16, $16
Bing: Where to find trilobites

9.  Dig for Crystals, Jacksons Crossroads, Ga.
What’s purple, found in Georgia and was believed to prevent intoxication by the ancient Greeks? Amethysts.
Rodney Moore can’t verify the power that the Greeks attribute to amethysts, but he certainly is made happy by his amethyst mine. Started in 2000, the mine has been prolific in the last 12 years.
“The biggest crystal I sold for $15,000 and amethyst from my mines sometimes brings a hefty price,” said Moore.
About 400 people visited Moore’s mine last year, at $35 a day, to look for amethysts.
“I find amethyst every weekend,” said Moore. “Amethyst is the easiest to find and beautiful out of the ground.”
Cost: Price is $35 per day for adults
Bing: Where to find amethysts

10.  Emerald Hollow Mine, Hiddenite, N.C.
Options are the name of the game at Emerald Hollow Mine, about an hour from the Blue Ridge Parkway in Hiddenite, N.C. You can try sluicing, prospecting in the creek bed, or digging in the mine itself. Any way you choose, you’ll be finding some emeralds.
“No one has ever gone home empty handed,” said Trey Malowaney, gemstone faceter at Hiddenite. “I myself have seen a 10.1-carat emerald pulled out of the creek by a girl” about 10-12 years old.
Local groups, too, get the option of field trips. Last year, thousands of students, Boy Scout troops and others visit the mine to learn about geology and the mine’s options for finding emeralds.
“We have visitors who are a little of everything, from families to serious collectors,” said Malowaney.
Hiddenite also offers professional gem-cutting on site, so you can convert your find into a necklace, ring or key ring. .. and impress your friends with your newfound treasure.
How much: Sluicing costs $5; “creeking” is priced at $10 and digging at $20.

Mitt Romney has a sense of humor!

Did Romney's comments "enlist" him in the birther movement like the Obama campaign is now saying?

Emeralds in the Uinta Mountains.

Apparently there have three emeralds found in the Uinta Mountains.  These emeralds were all found at the same location.  They were found where the south flank fault crosses the Blindstream Road on the way to Arta Lake.  The GPS coordinates are given on page 184 of Following the Legends by Dale Bascom.  The details of the find are on pages 183-186 of the same book.

I had heard about these emeralds for some time.  I was told on a phone call that they were found as the result of a tunnel that had been bored through a mountain.  That's not the case here so there may be other emeralds out there.  I ran across the south flank story on the Ancient Lost Treasure forum while doing some research.  I went through a few steps on a quest to find more about them.  Following are the steps:

1.  Read that they were found at the head of the south fork of Rock Creek and that they were mentioned in Dale's book.
2.  Read that they were found where the fault crosses the road and some water also seeps out at this location.
3.  I read the account in Dale's book and that conclusion was that the emeralds were associated with the fault.  I didn't want to believe it.
4.  I confirmed that they likely are not there because of the fault through other research of my own.

When Dale wrote his book this location had a mining claim on it.  Currently it does not have a mining claim on it.  That's OK with me because I have no intention of putting a mining claim at this location.  I will say that I am continuing my research and will likely do a field trip in the near future.

Obama cannot honestly deny he had not had a war on coal.

This is one reason I like Romney so much. I love it when he talks like this. Not only because my father was a coal miner and I come from coal country but because climate change is not caused by CO2 or man and is a HOAX. Environmentalists use this hoax to milk the government of grants to study something that they know is a hoax. These grants amount to 4 billion dollars a year. They also file frivolous lawsuits at taxpayers expense to fleece America. Coal is still very much a part of the energy equation. Perhaps the government should back off somewhat and not control energy so much.  Let free enterprise run its course.

The Liberal Fleecing of America.

The following links are listed to show how environmentalist, liberals and yes democrats, because it is in their platform, are using frivolous lawsuits to fleece America of tax dollars.  This is in addition to the grants they get, which amounts to 4 billion dollars a year, to study climate change which many of them know to be a hoax.  Apparently it is necessary to use cut and paste on these links as I can' figure out how to make them active links.  Thank you.

The National Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act, H.R. 4402.

We need HR 4402 for the good of America.  There is no reason to be dependent upon countries, friend or foe, for out energy and industrial needs.  We need the individual jobs, the collective benefit for the strength of our country and economy and not only to benefit ourselves but the planet.  It has been extortion by the EPA to not utilize our resources and minerals.  Ten years is much to long to have to wait to get a mining permit.  In my own opinion even 30 months is a long time but that is much better than 10 years.  We are only hurting ourselves when we can't mine our own resources.  It is unpatriotic and I would even say it is treasonous to allow other countries to benefit at our expense.  This is what it currently going on with the EPA and our current administration.  I rejoice that HR 4402, The National Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act has passed congress.  It even helps me to give them some credibility for being American, responsible and able.  Thank you.  We apparently do have some good servants in our government.

From June 20, 2012.
MLB Rookie Bryce Harper. Mormon from Nevada. #1 draft pick in 2010. Asked if he would celebrate with a beer in Canada after hitting a monster home run in Washington Nationals win in Toronto. "That's a clown question bro." He's only 19 years old. Harry Reid also Mormon and from Nevada gave the same answer when asked a question about the Dream Act. Harry is a baseball fan, a fan of Nevada and a Bruce Harper fan. This is hilarious.

From June 25, 2012.
May 6, 2012 Cole Hamels pitching for Philadelphia hit 19 year-old rookie Bryce Harper in the back on purpose with a pitch. Cole said he did it on purpose and was welcoming the rookie to the Major Leagues. Bryce went to first on the HBP. He took second and third on a single. He stole home on a pickoff attempt at first base. This was only Bryce's eighth Major League game. His first stolen base. He's tagged as a "Phenom" and is well deserving of the tag. Bryce is from Nevada and is LDS.

Cole was suspended for 5 games.

Camping Father's Day weekend.

June 15-16, 2012, I went camping with Becky, Cody, Tim and the kids.  Eleven people in all.  We went up to the north fork of the Duchesne River above Defa's Dude Ranch and above the turnoff for the Grandview Trailhead and Grandaddy Lakes.  We went for camping, fishing, gold panning and just socializing, enjoying family and getting outdoors.  This is also one of Tim's and probably Cody's old haunts.  It was great to go up there with someone who has the background at north fork that they do.

This is also the canyon where I took Newell Carter to his family reunion, twice.  Once just last year in August of 2011 and before that in 2006 and also in August.  This is also the canyon that has Stone Face in it.  Or Sternface, as Newell called it.  Some believe it is modified by man, as I do, and yet others think it is totally natural and ridiculous to consider that it was even remotely done or modified by man.  This is also in the middle of Lightning Ridge, Rhoades Canyon, Hades Canyon, Iron Mine Canyon, Soapstone, Farm Creek, Rock Creek and Blindstream.  Treasure stories abound about this area including tales of the Lost Rhoades Gold Mine.

It was fun but getting ready, camping and coming back got me bushed.

Stats. Thanks.

So I was taking a good look at my blogger stats today. I've looked before but I spent most of yesterday looking at classified ad sites. I joined some. I've been an amazon affiliate for some time and tried Google as well. I believe I've made less than $50 combined in about 4 years. But I'm still trying. Necessity is the mother of invention so it is said. From this perspective I was taking a hard look at my stats for both of my blogs. I have one that's older than this one. I noticed a bit of traffic from the Ancient Lost Treasure forum. To them I say thank you. It was interesting to look at the forum threads that brought them to the blog and read the comments. Some visitors were within the last week. Some of the blog comments were about 4 years old. Again thank you and thanks to all visitors. The other blog?

We need to use our American Resources.

Government Scientist Believed Impacts from Arizona Uranium Mining "Grossly Overestimated" in Obama Administration Document
goo.gl/bZMUr

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 23, 2012 - Internal emails obtained by the House Natural Resources Committee raise significant questions into the science used by the Obama Administration to justify a 20-year ban on uranium development on one million acres of federal land in Arizona. In the emails, scientists within the National Park Service discuss how the potential environmental impacts were “grossly overestimated” in the Administration’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and that the potential impacts are “very minor to negligible.”

Trump to Newsmax
“We’re closing up coals plants all over the place and yet China is spewing out [pollution] like it’s nothing. So we don’t use our resources. When you talk about the energy under our own feet, when you look at North Dakota and a few other places where they’re going wild and where unemployment is at such a great level, and you look at what’s happening between the Environmental Protection Agency and all the environmental problems that have been falsely created, we’re not allowed to take our own energy.

“I’m a big fan of the Keystone pipeline. But at the same time I don’t even like getting energy from Canada, and I love Canada. But we don’t need energy from Canada. We have it all here.

“With that being said, we should still have the Keystone pipeline. It means thousands and thousands of jobs and it’s another resource for energy so it’s a good thing, and it’s only going to be sold to China anyway.

The market-clearing price for new 2015 capacity – almost all natural gas – was $136 per megawatt. That’s eight times higher than the price for 2012, which was just $16 per megawatt. In the mid-Atlantic area covering New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and DC the new price is $167 per megawatt. For the northern Ohio territory served by FirstEnergy, the price is a shocking $357 per megawatt.

These leases that were withdrawn were done so illegally.

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=51673

In the mountainous Green River Basin of the American West, running through Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming, the American people own lands containing an estimated one trillion barrels of oil, more than triple the amount of Saudi Arabia’s proven oil reserves and far exceeding anything we could have dreamed a few decades ago

This incredible supply—made of up most of the world’s oil shale —should be a cause for national celebration, since it has the potential both to lower gasoline prices and to increase government revenues without raising taxes.

In 2008, this exciting energy story was just beginning to bear fruit, as the Bush administration issued 77 leases (after a seven-year environmental review process) for energy companies looking to develop the oil shale.

Then came President Barack Obama. Within weeks of his inauguration, the Obama Interior Department withdrew the leases.

United States reliant on other countries for rare earth minerals.

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=51301

“The United States is heavily reliant on foreign countries such as China for critical minerals that are the building blocks of our economy and imperative to renewable energy development, military technology and the manufacturing of nearly all of our electronic devices,” said Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.), chairman of the House Resources Committee.

http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/energy-a-environment/227217-mining-policies-threaten-national-security-and-economy

Here we are again: at the mercy of a foreign government for a natural resource essential to our economic and national security. President Obama’s recent announcement that the United States plans to file a case with the World Trade Organization against China’s export restrictions on rare earth minerals highlights the under-reported fact that our nation’s reliance on foreign minerals is even more pronounced than our dependence on foreign oil.

It takes too long in the U.S. to get a mining permit.

This delay in getting mining permits in America is costing our country jobs. It is hurting collectively the mining industry in America. This while other countries like Canada, Australia, China and Brazil are surging ahead. Canada and Australia are well established in mining while China and Brazil have recent surged perhaps even pulling ahead of America in some instances. Rare earths in China. Biofuels in Brazil. We have the resources but are not using them. That seems like treason to me. This is destroying America while other countries are prospering. We are losing our middle class while the middle class in China and India is emerging in a big way. It is good to see them prosper and I say God bless them but it should not have to come at the expense of America. We need H.R. 4402 and we need it yesterday. A healthier and better America is a healthier and better world.

May 2, 2012 In testimony last week before the House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, National Mining Association (NMA) President & CEO Hal Quinn urged strong congressional support for the Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act of 2012 (H.R. 4402), sponsored by Republican Mark Amodei (R-Nev.): “H.R. 4402 tackles one of the highest hurdles for domestic mining: permit delays. The length, complexity and uncertainty of the permitting process are the primary reasons investors give for not investing in U.S. minerals mining,” Quinn told the subcommittee. “Delaying permits for mining projects is not a new problem. What is new is the growing awareness of its implications for our nation, particularly in a highly competitive world economy in which the demand for minerals continues to grow, especially in fast growing economies led by China and India.”. Prospecting.

In some earlier posts I have talked a little bit about prospecting. I gave some information about some of my grandfather's claims and recently a few posts about my dad's claims. I have decided to add this prospecting slant to the theme of this blog and put more emphasis on it. It won't be just about gold, though I will be talking about that. It will also be about gemstones. If you check out some of the links you will see that I have already made a step in that direction. I have also had a few posts about gemstones and will likely do much more in this area. I will also mention from time to time some current events in our country, America, that affect prospecting, mining our resources and individual prospectors. I will likely move away from the nutrition theme of this blog. I am doing this rather than start a new blog because this one is already establishes and does have some foundation for the theme of prospecting.

Only a few days earlier, many a constitutional scholar were left with their jaws dropped down near their ankles, following Obama’s White House lawn speech, where he dismissed the US Supreme Court, as an “Unelected group of people would somehow overturn a duly constitutional and passed law”, referring to their ability to overturn Obamacare legislation as unconstitutional. Such a statement could be viewed as disturbing to 21st century America, considering the record amount of unlawfull executive orders and signing statements which have taken place under both GW Bush and Obama over the last 12 years.  (Info wars) Only a few days earlier, many a constitutional scholar were left with their jaws dropped down near their ankles, following Obama’s White House lawn speech, where he dismissed the US Supreme Court, as an “Unelected group of people would somehow overturn a duly constitutional and passed law”, referring to their ability to overturn Obamacare legislation as unconstitutional. Elko Mining Expo and Salt Lake Gem Faire

I just found out today about the Elko Mining Expo. Now I want to go. It is on June 7-8, 2012 in Elko. I'm going to ask my cousin if he wants to go and I have another person that said he wouldn't mind going either. The week after that is the Gem Faire at the South Towne Exposition Center June 15-17, 2012 and I have three free passes. I will likely try to follow up on some gemstone prospecting. I will also look for opportunities to sell any gems that I may find. I will also check into the faceting of gemstones. Sounds like a lot of opportunity and fun.

Bully President.

http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/romney-obama-election-2012/2012/04/27/id/437368?s=al&promo_code=EC54-1

I agree with this article. Basically this article says that President Obama is abusing the office of President. I say he does not respect the office of President. I feel I have more respect for the office than he does. People who speak out against Obama often are doing so because they have respect for the office of President of the United States, not because they lack that respect. I could go on but this is not the place to do so.

Never Give Up.

I love this quote. This girl, Bry, is so inspirational. She started out as a normal, down to earth girl and through a lot of hard work and goals has achieved in an amazing way. From what she says was a skinny young girl she set out to improve her body. Some of the goals she set were to eat healthy, work out, model, keep her values and apparently inspire others. She has done all of the above. I love it when she uses her talents to improve herself and others. Through maintaining her standards she has proven an inspiration and leader to many others. Good going Bry.

I do have some personal goals or things that I think about every day. These goals are rather odd and seem somewhat impossible, somewhat selfish and perhaps not right. This quote has given me inspiration and hope that I can and will achieve what I think about every day and enlarge it to include all that I think about rather than just one or two items. To talk about it is one thing. To see someone who has done what they say is the best.

White Horse Prophecy Fulfillment?

Basically the White Horse Prophecy is that in the latter days the constitution of the United States will hang by a thread and the LDS Church or elders or members will save the constitution. This prophecy has been attributed to Joseph Smith. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officially denies that this is a revelation of Joseph Smith.  Nevertheless, there are still believers.

From this quote of Ann Romney below it makes me wonder. The quote is very intriguing: "

I only want to know one thing, Mitt, if you get the nomination which isn't easy," Romney recounted telling her husband. "If you beat Barack Obama, can you fix it? I need to know if it's too late. Has America gone over the proverbial cliff? … I need to know if it's worth to go through all of that and you are going to tell me then it's too late, and he said, 'No it's getting late, but it's not too late.'"

Another Facet

There is another facet to my recent trip to Woodside on March 31 and April 1, 2012 that I would like to share.  Some time ago I put a Google Earth image of Woodside on a treasure forum to have it dowsed.  Three people dowsed it and all came up with some kind of treasure, coins or cache on the image.  When I was down there I took some pictures of one of the areas that had a couple of hits.  Later I looked at the pictures and selected one that seemed to be the best candidate to fit the area dowsed with hits on the image by two of the dowsers.  This time all three dowsers came up with hits within that one picture.  They were all kind of close as well.  I don't know if it means anything but they all seemed to be in the center of the picture.  That must mean that I chose the right picture to have dowsed.  It also helps to walk it in or zero in on the target.  Pinpointing it for further field work.
