The Son of the Sundance Kid.

Robert Harvey Longabaugh claimed to be the son of the Sundance Kid and Etta Place.  He lectured at libraries, dropped in on newspaper offices and talked to anyone who would listen in the Western United States during 1970 and 1971.

There are a few transcripts of his lectures available but only one known lecture that is preserved as an audio file.  Robert gave a lecture in Ellensburg, Washington on July 17, 1971 that was recorded and is now available as a .wma audio file.

Continuing Research on Etta Place.

Yesterday I talked to a relative, a nephew, of Etta Place who did not know that this relative was rumored to be Etta Place.  Now he has accepted it wholeheartedly.

The day before I talked to a lady who wrote an article in 1970 for the Price, Utah newspaper about a man, Robert Harvey Longabaugh, who claimed to be the son of the Sundance Kid.  Sometimes he went by the name of Harry Thayne Longabaugh.  This woman wrote more articles for the Price paper that I need to find.

This is in preparation for possibly writing a book.  I feel I still have some research to do before a book would be complete.  I have found Etta Place before South America, but not much after South America. 

New book. Bringing Sundance Home.

Bringing Sundance Home is the new book written and researched by Jerry Nickle. He claims that William Henry Long, who was working for a cattle ranch in Wyoming, was arrested under the name of Harry Longabaugh after Harry Longabaugh had been arrested and escaped for horse stealing. A case of mistaken identity which apparently William Henry Long went along with to a certain degree. Hence William Henry Long has been the Sundance Kid and Butch Cassidy's friend and sidekick in South America since that time. At this time I am not going to agree or disagree with Jerry. I have though for some time that Hiram BeBee was the Sundance Kid. This sheds a different light on the subject and I am still, as always, looking for evidence before coming to a conclusion. I will say it is possible and makes sense the way Jerry explained it.

Willilam Henry Long married Luzernia Ann Allred who was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Allred who is the brother of Hannah Caroline Allred who is my ancestorr. James Allred, their father, is the common ancestor of myself and Jerry Nickle. I am related to William Henry Long by marriage. After Luzernia Jerry is  descended from Chloe Jane Morrell Jackson and Jeremiah Jackson who may be the outlaw Kid Jackson that Charles Kelly referred to. They are Jerry's grandparents. Next is Clayton Jackson Nickle and Luzernia Jackson Nickle. They are Jerry's parents.
