Blog about family history or genealogy and human interest stories. All of the Josephs were prospectors and I have decided to make that a theme in this blog.

Etta Place Research
Summary of recent research on Etta Place. On the 2nd of this month I went to my home town and visited an LDS Family History Library. I was looking for local history on the family of Etta Place. One of the workers there is best friends with a family member. The worker called the family member on the phone and I was able to talk to the family member for about 20 minutes. We exchanged contact information for contact later.
I was able to meet the family member at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. We exchanged information on Etta Place. She had some important information that I had been looking for. I had a lot of information as well that they didn't have. Marriage licenses, census data and military records included.
I also visited the mother of another family member and exchanged contact information. That family member just called me the other day and we exchanged information through email. This is so wonderful that we can do this exchange of information for the people who have died. We will meet those people after we die. What a glorious reunion.
I have also contacted some descendants of Etta Place and befriended them on facebook. I'm waiting for feedback from them. It has been fun to read their posts on facebook and get to know them in that way. They post some really good information. All of this has happened this month. In my research for the last few months I have found what researchers have been looking for for over 50 years and have not been able to find.
The research for Etta Place has been very rewarding. One of many hobbies as I have also been doing fantasy baseball, prospecting for gold, tending my granddaughter and other business of life.
